Three seconds or less

Around the same time every weekday, keys get inserted in both the cars and ignition turned on. One car backs out and then the other. What follows is a chase on the road, halts at stop signs and traffic lights. The second car follows the first, sometimes to lose sight when another vehicle comes in the middle, but the route stays the same.

Till, the first car changes lanes and starts to slow, getting ready to take a different road. The second one catches up but instead of zooming past, the breaks are applied gently. Buzz peeps out from the window of the first car, smiles big and waves bye.

Three seconds or less of driving parallel to one another, a beautiful moment that lingers throughout the day.
